[MIRAMICHI, NB] — The province of New Brunswick has awarded a multimillion-dollar contract to upgrade the Centennial Bridge in Miramichi.
The government says New Brunswick's MQM Quality Manufacturing Ltd. submitted a winning bid of more than $13 million.
Construction is expected to begin in early July and will last about three years.
Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Claude Williams says the bridge is 45-years-old and requires maintenance to bring it to current standards.
He says the work will involve structural steel repairs and painting.
