[SAINT JOHN, NB] — The union representing locked-out workers at Acadian Coach Lines says it is returning to bargaining with the company next weekend.
Glen Carr, president of Amalgamated Transit Union Local 1229, said in a news release Sunday night that two days of talks are scheduled starting on Saturday.
The company locked out 59 bus drivers, maintenance workers and customer agents on Dec. 2.
The lockout affects bus services in New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island.
Carr said the two sides haven't negotiated since Nov. 25.
The company has said it lost $7 million in eight years and it is looking for improvements in productivity in negotiations with the union.
