[SAINT-ANDRE, NB] – Industrialist Arthur Irving, author and playwright Calixte Duguay and former jockey Ron Turcotte are among 10 new recipients of the Order of New Brunswick.

The list of the order's newest members was announced today by Premier David Alward.

Irving, chair of Irving Oil, is recognized for his contributions to the economy and for his efforts in helping to preserve the province's wetlands.

Duguay is lauded for his contributions to Acadian literature and music, while Turcotte is honoured for his hall of fame career as a jockey and as an advocate for the disabled.

The list also includes author Raymond Fraser, cancer care fundraiser Cindy Hewitt, educators Audrey Lampert and Philip Sexsmith, entrepreneur Salem Masry, former Atholville mayor Raymond Lagace and Ann-Marie Tingley, an advocate for the intellectually challenged.

The recipients will be invested into the order during a ceremony in Fredericton in October.
